Rob is a true rockstar engineer who comes to NexGenT with a vast amount of experience and a burning passion for teaching and helping others to become successful as Network and Systems Engineers. Rob began from zero experience, working through the helpdesk and becoming a Network Architect and Principal Consultant in just 7 short years!He has worked for several fortune 500 organizations in different capacities and got his start in Helpdesk/Desktop Support in 2011. He began quickly learning as much as possible, being promoted to the network team as a Network Analyst. In 2013 he earned his CCNA R&S (Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching) and was promoted to a Network Support Engineer in the NOC (Network Operations Center).

After earning his CCNA R&S, he began studying for the CCNP R&S (Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing & Switching) which he earned in December of 2013. He left the NOC and the Support Engineer role to work on a massive network upgrade project for BMO Harris after an acquisition.

He then began studying for the CCIE R&S (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert Routing & Switching) and entered the consulting world working with CNH, Marcus Corporation, The Journal Times, Kerry Ingredients and other smaller projects.

Rob passed the CCIE R&S written exam in July of 2014 after 7 months of dedicated studying and set his sights on the CCIE Lab exam. With CCIE as his goal and proven experience in the field, he began working with Cisco Partners in the Milwaukee area. He earned his CCIE R&S in October of 2015. Once he achieved CCIE, he moved into Architect and Principal Consulting roles where he led teams of engineers through large, complex network designs and deployments. He consulted for a number of companies in the greater Milwaukee area until November of 2018 when he joined NexGenT as a full time instructor. As a continuous learner, Rob is currently working on his 2nd and 3rd CCIEs in Security and Service Provider.
